Case studies
Mr & Mrs Nightingale - Moorgate,Rotherham
A detached private residence with previously landscaped gardens comprising lawn areas,extensive ornamental borders and rockery features which are well stocked with a variety of shrubs, trees,hedges and herbaceous plants..The gardens had previously been maintained to a high standard but had recently been neglected.
Our brief in April 2024 was to provide an initial tidy up/renovation of the gardens & then to provide a regular fortnightly maintenance service from the end of March to the end of November in order to keep the gardens maintained to the previous high standards. Tasks include; fortnightly mowing of all lawns, weeding & tidying of borders, pruning & cutting back of shrubs and plants as necessary,hedge trimming,leaf clearance, and other routine garden maintenance tasks as required.
Bannatyne's Health Clubs - Bramley, Rotherham & Manton,Worksop
Part of a nationwide chain of health and fitness clubs, the Rotherham club has extensive grounds comprising lawn areas and ornamental shrub borders surrounding the club itself and the car park areas.
Monarch Gardens and Landscaping LLP were initially approached by the general manager in May 2011 to do a one-off tidy up of the grounds which had become neglected.
A regular programme of maintenance was then set up. This consists of fortnightly visits between April and October, inclusive, and monthly visits between November and March, inclusive. Tasks include grass cutting, weed control in borders and hard standing/paved areas, pruning and trimming of shrubs as necessary and litter picking.
In November 2018 we were approached by the manager of the Worksop club to renovate the overgrown shrub areas surrounding the club & car park areas.After the initial cutting back & renovation of the shrub areas & trees a monthly maintenance visit was implemented to keep the shrubs trimmed,litter picked & weed control applied to the borders and hard standing/paved areas.
Holme House Farm - Carlton in Lindrick,Worksop
A working farm,equestrian centre & commercial storage facility on the outskirts of Worksop.We were contacted by the owner early in 2024 and asked to provide ongoing maintenance around this large site.Formal lawns and garden areas around the farmhouse are maintained on a fortnightly basis.Tasks include lawn mowing,shrub & hedge trimming and weed control.Other hedges & grass areas/verges around the farm are also cut as required/necessary throughout the year.
Mr & Mrs Cluer - Ford,Sheffield
A detached private residence set in well stocked,established cottage gardens which were in need of some initial restoration.Our brief in May 2022 was to do an initial tidy up & renovation of the garden and then to provide ongoing maintenance on a 3 weekly cycle from April to November inclusive.Mowing of overgrown lawns,pruning of overgrown shrubs,removal of unwanted plants,additional planting and general weeding/tidying of borders were carried out on the initial renovation.
Ongoing maintenance tasks include regular lawn mowing,weed control,pruning/trimming of shrubs & hedges,maintenance of herbaceous borders,leaf clearance & provision of seasonal bedding plant displays.Other one-off works are undertaken as required(eg jet washing paving/paths,lawn treatments etc)
Moorgate Chase Residents Association - Moorgate, Rotherham
A small, self-contained, housing development in Rotherham. The grounds consist of extensive communal lawn areas with some ornamental shrub borders around the perimeter. Monarch Gardens and Landscaping LLP provide a fortnightly maintenance service from April to November, inclusive.
Tasks include mowing of the lawn areas, weeding of ornamental borders, weed control on paving and drives, pruning and trimming of shrubs as required and leaf clearance.
Additional one-off works are undertaken as required (e.g. a final shrub pruning and tidying up of the site in December).
Mrs Marriott - Dinnington,Rotherham
A detached private residence in Dinnington,Rotherham.Our brief was to replace/upgrade an old paved area adjacent to the back door of the property.We removed the old paving & sub-base.New sub-base was installed & new paving laid in squares of four slabs leaving 6 inch gaps between the squares which were then filled with decorative gravel.2 new fence panels were also installed at one end of the area & galvanised garden edging fitted around the edges of the new paving to finish off
Union Mews - Harthill,Rotherham
A small development site of 5 properties situated in the village of Harthill near Rotherham.We were approached by the developer in early 2022 to carry out boundary fencing construction around the site and to carry out phased landscaping work to the properties as they were completed.Soil preparation,turfing,seeding & planting was carried out on each property over a 2 year period.Ongoing maintenance of grass & planted areas has been implemented on two of the larger properties since completion.
Mrs Bamber - Sheffield
A detached private residence in South East Sheffield.Our brief was to renovate & re-landscape an overgrown & neglected rear garden and to provide access for a wheel chair user.The work was carried out in phases over a 3 month period from December 2024 to March 2025.
We first stripped out & cleared off all existing planting & garden areas.Timber sleeper edging was installed to create new planting areas,Indian Sandstone paving was laid,composite decking installed and new fence panels supplied & fitted.An access ramp for a wheel chair was also installed to provide access from the decking to the garden.Finally,a small pond was installed and the planting areas were soiled up,planted with new plants & decorative bark mulch spread over the newly planted areas.
Mrs Sockett- Sheffield
A semi-detached private residence in Sheffield.Our brief was to excavate out a raised area at the rear of the property & install a paved patio area with steps up to a neglected raised garden area which required renovation.Hedges around the garden area were cut back,old shrubs & plants removed and the garden was rotovated,raked level & turfed to provide a new lawn with borders around the edges.After excavating the patio area we first installed a treated wooden sleeper retaining wall & steps up to the new garden area.Paving was then installed to provide a patio area outside the back door of the property.
